Dr. S.R. Ramanagoudar Multispeciality Hospital and Research Institute Pvt. Ltd., was established on 8th June 1980 with an aim to serve the needy, under-privileged, to give a better health to mankind and shoulder the responsibility of building a healthy nation.
1980’s was an era, where KMC was a household name. All Residents from Dharwad city and surrounding rural areas used to go to KMC (presently KIMS) Hubli for any health related problems. The idea of opening a nursing home in Dharwad by Dr. S.R. Ramanagoudar was written off by many seniors. Not bowing down to the critics and disheartening remarks by seniors, Dr. S.R. Ramanagoudar took a bold and courageous step to start a first ten bedded surgical nursing home. On 8th June 1980 as per the wish, blessing and guidance of his father

Dr. S.R. Ramanagoudar Nursing Home shifted to its own new building with increased infrastructure and facilities. The nursing home increased in capacity to 50 beds. Dr. S.R. Ramanagoudar alone served the people of and around Dharwad day and night with utmost care and love. People from neighbouring taluks like Savadatti, Kittur, Navalgund, Naragund, Kalaghatagi, Hubli, Alnavar, Haliyal, Dandeli all received good treatment from this Nursing Home.
By the grace of almighty and elders all his four sons and daughter-in-laws opted medicine as their profession. After completion of their studies and specialization in different fields, they began their medical career in Dr. S.R. Ramanagoudar Nursing Home. Under the efficient and effective guidance of Dr. S. R. Ramanagoudar all of them evolved as finest doctors. Dr. S.R. Ramanagoudar Nursing Home scaled new heights and was re-christened as
